Helpful information: Coronavirus – (COVID-19)
Southwest Internal Medicine is committed to your safety and well-being. Due to the national emergency in regard to the coronavirus pandemic, and because we care for many ‘high risk’ individuals in this community, Southwest Internal Medicine is temporarily changing our procedures for evaluating patients to minimize the risk of exposure to the coronavirus.
If you have concerns that you may be infected with Coronavirus (symptoms of fever, dry cough or difficulty breathing) please call our office to set up a same day video or telephone appointment with a physician.
In the short term, if you have a scheduled appointment with one of the doctors for routine follow- up of a chronic condition or for an acute medical problem, you will be contacted to have a tele-health video appointment or telephone appointment instead of coming into the office. Our staff will provide the information ahead of your appointment on how to connect to the appointment. If you do not have the capability for a video appointment it will, be by phone instead.
If you were scheduled for a preventive health exam that includes a physical exam, it will be postponed until the coronavirus outbreak has settled down, possibly 8 weeks.
All non-urgent testing (pulmonary function testing, etc) and allergy injections will be temporarily postponed.
